Michael is serving his third term on the Board of Trustees. He has been the Clerk-Treasurer of the Town of Highland, Indiana since 1992. Highland is one of the original, founding communities of the Trust.

Michael, long an advocate for the Trust, believes that it is becoming the most significant membership benefit offered by Aim. Service on the board is a way of serving his community but also the larger community of communities that are the municipalities of Aim.

He is active in the Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers, Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada, the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, and the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns. In addition to his service as Highland’s fiscal officer, Michael is an adjunct instructor at the Indiana University Northwest, teaching the graduate course in public budget and finance as well the undergraduate course in local government structure and policy.

Michael double majored in Religious Studies and Political Science at Indiana University. He also earned a Master’s of Public Affairs with a concentration in public management from the Graduate School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Northwest. Michael is married to Christy and has a six-year-old daughter, Abigail, who is in first grade.
