Amber is a Kokomo, IN native (an hour east of Lafayette). Amber graduated from Ball State University, Muncie, IN, in 2006 with her Bachelor’s of Social Work (BSW). Shortly after graduation Amber relocated to the greater Lafayette area, where she currently resides with her two children, Hudson age 11 and Emersyn age 10. Amber practiced Social Work with the Department of Child Services and St. Anthony Health Care between 2006-2010. In 2010 Amber came on board with the City of Lafayette and worked as a night shift 911 communications technician for the Lafayette Police Department until mid-summer 2016. Amber transitioned into the HR coordinator role for the City of Lafayette in August 2016, she elevated to the Sr. HR Coordinator role in 2018 and in 2019 Amber became the Assistant Director of Human Resources, as of February 2023, Amber is the Director of Human Resources for the City of Lafayette. Amber holds her SHRM-CP certification and is pursuing her master’s degree in Human Resource Management.
